News 6/7/09:

CivNation is back again, the original backups will be used so about 50% of the original site will be online very soon. The original CivWorld at GameNation design will be part of the CivNation History subsection. At the moment the forums are up and running.

Short history so far: tracking down all the backups took about 3yrs, the final week of CN backups were nearly lost in a HD failure and a SyQuest cartridge jam... both of which required data recovery. Many of the page backups were on 3.5 floppy disks and were in good shape considering their age(10yrs) and the only limitation at the time was finding a store who still sold internal 3.5 floppy drives. Many of the disks were packed away and thought to have been lost.
